| List A Cricket |
|
List A Cricket is a new category made official by ICC in 2006. It serves the same purpose as first class cricket except that concerns itself only with limited over matches. List A Cricket, as envisaged by the ICC, takes into purview the domestic limited over cricket of many cricketing nations and also the international limited over matches.
The Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians, who created this category, have for long called upon ICC to grant official recognition to it. The matches which come under the umbrella of the List A Cricket are-
- One-day international matches
- The top limited over matches in domestic cricket
- The one-day matches which touring sides play against the domestic teams.
The conditioning matches before the World Cup and other friendly matches do not come under List A Cricket.
