Sussex County Cricket Club
The Sussex County Cricket Club is one of the oldest of county clubs in England. It shares with Kent the distinction of being the birthplace of cricket. The Sussex County Cricket Club play the one day matches with the name Sussex Sharks.

Although in Sussex, village matches were organized in as early as the 17th century, it was not until 19th that an official county body was established. Thus on 17 June 1836 Sussex Cricket Fund was established which eventually led to the formation of Sussex County Cricket Club.

Sussex has no doubt contributed to England's pool of talents. Some of the notable performers have been- Maurice Tate, Albert Relf. Unfortunately, the present England team does not have many players from the Sussex County Cricket Club.
