2004 season proved to be a rewarding one for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club since it was promoted to play Division One Cricket after winning the Division Two Championship. In 2005, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club won the Division One County Championship. This was the club's fifth title since 1890.
