History
The Hampshire County Cricket Club is a first class cricket club playing in the English County championships. The Hampshire County Cricket Club was formed in 1864 and made its county Championship debut in 1895. They won the Championships twice, once in 1961 and once in 1973. The team is also known as the Hampshire Hawks in the one day league. The Rose Bowl ground is home to the Hampshire County Cricket Club.
Performance
The Hampshire County Cricket Club have been one of the stronger sides in the English domestic circuit. Apart from winning the County championships twice, the team has also won a host of other contests. They were the NatWest Trophy (now the C&G Trophy) champions in1991, were winners of the now-defunct Benson&Hedges Cup in 1988 and 1992, the Sunday League in 1975, 1978 and 1986 and won the C&G Trophy in 2005.
