Marlon Samuels is a wonderful right hander having a composed start. When he was only 19 he represented his country and showed a beautifully balanced technique, standing completely still at the crease and moving smoothly into his strokes off either foot. Even his offspin claimed a couple of wickets. He has an aggressive approach to the game and this got him almost sent away from India in 2002, after he defied a team curfew but yet was kept on. He responded to this well and gave his maiden century in Kolkata. But after that he struggled with from and injury and was dropped after two poor home tests against Sri Lanka in 2003.
