Makhaya Ntini, the first black player to represent South Africa, is a genuine pace bowler and has emerged as South Africa's premium strike bowler.
Though his career has been marked with many an unfortunate events and injuries, Ntini has successfully achieved many milestones. From being the first South African to take 10 wickets at Lords, to holding the record for best Test bowling figures by any South African (13 for 132), Makhaya Ntini has a lot to boast about. He has indeed emerged as one of the best fast bowlers of the world, and though he doesn't bowl as fast as Bret Lee or Shoaib Akhtar, he is one of the most dreaded bowlers today. His performances speak for him-he took 48 Test wickets in 2005-'06.
